Beyond Borders

Bad film. I watched this film with my dear friend Amanda; we both majored in global poverty (Global Studies). We were excited about a human rights, economic relief, goodwill movie. Instead we got arms trade masked under medical relief and , selfish affairs masked under "we're helping people." Starving people exploited and hurting people ok. It was terrible. And then, the real kicker came once the film was over. This is due to the fact that the film was dedicated to all relief workers and those affected by war and famine. I resent that in total. The film mocked everything that REAL workers give their lives for. She (angelina jolie) didn't give her life for relief of the hurting and those affected by war and famine she gave it for her selfish lover. This was a terrible movie about adultry and exploitation hidden beneath a good UN movie. We were offended and more than slightly upset because this film came highly recommended to us due to the fact that we are International Affairs, justice junkies. I did not appreciate the mockery of this film.

I did find it very strange that they used other people's starving and dying as the backdrop of a love triangle.
